inter airport Europe 2017 to showcase state-of-the-art airport technology12 October 2017
inter airport Europe 2017 will open its gates at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany on 10–13 October. More than 500 exhibitors from across the world have already secured more than 30,200m2 of indoor and outdoor floor space at the 21st edition of the international exhibition for airport equipment, technology, design and services.
Airport operators demanding the latest equipment for ground handling, terminal operations, airport IT and airport design visit inter airport Europe in Munich every two years to source state-of-the-art technology first-hand. The show’s visitors are industry experts from airports, airlines, air cargo carriers and aviation support. The event comprises four exhibition categories: interRAMP (ground support equipment), interTERMINAL (technical terminal installations and services), interDATA (specialised hardware and software) and interDESIGN (architecture and furnishings). The exhibition covers every area of airport-related technology and services.
“The economic situation of the airport industry is currently experiencing a rather promising development,” says Nicola Hamann, managing director of the event’s organiser, Mack Brooks Exhibitions. “Due to increasing passenger traffic at airports, there is a rising demand for efficient security and passenger guidance systems, and cutting-edge ground support equipment. The booking status reflects this positive development for a sector that is being influenced by prevailing industry trends like digitalisation and automation.”
Increasing passenger traffic leads to a rising demand for better efficiency and the need for data exchange across airports. The requirements for cutting-edge digitalisation and automation systems are therefore greater than ever. In recent years, digitalisation at airports has become increasingly important, not only to increase capacity levels but also to improve the user’s experience and the flow of passenger traffic. The implementation of the contactless passenger journey involves innovative technology, which includes hardware and the latest equipment. In addition, mobile applications, cloud-based systems and the internet of things are being introduced to optimise maintenance operations, cargo management, and various other terminal and airfield operations.
As the world’s leading airport exhibition, inter airport Europe 2017 will focus on the rising demand for digitalisation and automation systems, as this trend offers immense business potential for the industry, and sets new standards that will lead to increased efficiency and an improved passenger experience. Live demonstrations of new products and innovations are a key feature of the world’s largest platform for the airport industry.
