The newly born Ryanair’s scheduled route from London/Stansted to Sofia was showered by heavy spring rain when the airplane landed in the Bulgarian capital in the evening of 25 April.
It was welcomed with cheer − as big as the big scale letters stating "SOF-STN" − by the local delivery team from the Aviation Marketing Department of Sofia Airport.
London is the favourite destination for the passengers travelling from Sofia. Now, along with Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton they will have Stansted on option with year-round daily service offered by the well-known low-cost carrier Ryanair.
The first flight back to the British capital departed with 180 passengers on board who were all treated with branded chocolate bars. There was of course a box of chocolates for the crew as well.
The SOF-STN route is the second out of total 21 routes announced by Ryanair for the biggest international airport in Bulgaria which was selected as one of the new Carrier’s Eastern European bases.
