Celebrate history, embrace the future
By Maurice Bishop International Airport
This year, the Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada celebrated its 35th anniversary as an airport within the Eastern Caribbean region. This airport’s construction was completed in 1984 after an intervention by the US military aimed to stem a coup, which killed the then Prime Minister Maurice Bishop. The former name of the airport was Point Saline’s International Airport until 2009, when it was renamed in honour of the former prime minister.
