Basel Aero, part of Basic Element one of the Russia’s biggest diversified industry groups, reports on the performance of the airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Anapa and Gelendzhik following the results of the first two months. The increase in the number of passengers for this period was 18% in comparison with the same period in 2017.
In January and February 2018, Basel Aero airports (Sochi, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendzhik) handled 1,375,307 passengers. This is 18% increase over the previous year, when the passenger numbers reached 1,164,155. However, 1,268,734 passengers went through the airports of the Krasnodar Territory on domestic flights and 106,573 passengers were processed on international ones (15% and 57% increase over the same period last year accordingly).
The number of takeoffs and landings over the reporting period amounted to 6,049 operations, which is 11% more than last year. 1600 tons of air cargo and mail were handled by Basel Aero airports (+ 10%).
In January and February 2018, Sochi International Airport handled 759 495 passengers (+13%). However, more than 731,000 passengers (+ 12%) were processed on domestic flights, and about 28 000 (+ 69%) were handled on the international ones.
The number of the passengers handled in Krasnodar International Airport soared to 538,949 (27% more than in the previous year). The domestic passenger traffic was more than 460 000 people (+23), and domestic traffic rose to more than 78 000 (+ 54%).
About 73 000 passengers went through Anapa International Airport for the first two months of 2018 (12% increase over the last year).
Between January and February 2018 Gelendzhik Airport handled more than 4,203 passengers (+ 38%).
